False Alarm =(

They tell you to go to the hospital if you are having contractions every 5 min. for at least an hour or if your water breaks. Well, last night while we were over at the Buchanan's celebrating Brooklyn's 1st birthday I was having a lot of contractions...but having too much fun to keep track of them. Once we got home, Andy and I timed my contractions and realized that we needed to get to the hospital. Especially since we knew that I had already been dilated to a 4 five days prior and the nurses told us not to hesitate going in. We immediately called my sweet baby sister, Megan, a student at BYU. Who better to take the night shift? ...I don't think she sleeps much anyways. =) She got to our house in a jiffy and we were off to the hospital! I think I was still in denial and Andy was just so excited. I pulled out the video camera in the car and we called the fam to let them know what was happening. Well, once we got to the hospital I noticed my contractions slowing down and felt too good. I felt bad for the other girl that was bending over in pain at the front desk and she even said something to the nurse about how well I seemed to be handling my labor. I still had hope that I was progressing and going to have my baby, but I had a feeling this was a false alarm. Sure enough they checked me and I was still dilated to a 4 (which really surprised me after all the contractions I had since my Thurs. appointment). My contractions all but stopped and I was pretty embarrassed. I think all the walking around Target for Brooklyn's birthday present combined with being dehydrated caused the increase in contractions. After the whole ordeal we finally got to bed at 2 AM...needless to say, we both struggled today to function normally!

P.S. I drank a lot of water today.

It was all my doing, I know. I got you guys all hyped up for nothing. Sorry! But don't you feel better knowing that you weren't in labor?

Oh I feel bad that the false alarm was caused by present shopping for Brooklyn! You're so sweet! It's ok though, he's here now and it's all behind you :)
