Life with Tate

I don't want to forget any moment I have with my baby. I often find myself trying to put my brain into record mode so that someday I will be able to recall all the special moments we have together. I want to be able to remember his voice, his smell, his face, his little hands and feet, his sweet personality...and even the sound of his cry. He means the world to me and always will! I love being a mom and am honored to be his mother. I thank Heavenly Father for blessing me with such a sweet boy and am so excited to add another little one to our family!

Tate is a mamma's boy. He loves to say "momma or mommy" over and over and over! He is a great sleeper and has been since he arrived on this earth, and for that I am grateful! Before he gets out of his crib, he either hands me his blue baby blanket, Binky, and stuffed animals or points at everything for me to retrieve until it is empty...then he comes out. He loves shoes (especially grandmas), books, going outside, crackers, his friends and family, playing in his room, going in the car, water (baths, the pool, sprinklers, washing his hands, etc...), bubbles, his blanket and Binky, cuddling with daddy, watching morning cartoons (especially Barney...uhg...and Curious George), fruit, chocolate, talking on the phone..especially to Daddy (and can do it all by himself),samples at Costco, saying prayers, dancing (usually to some beat I come up with), singing Popcorn, going to nursery, family hugs with mommy and daddy, and balls. He loves playing baby tiger with mommy (we crawl around the floor making soft growling sounds), "I'm gonna get you" (he runs to the nearest person frantically and then laughs hysterically), when someone (usually myself) hides and then pops up in different places around the couch, kicking balls (much more so than throwing them), joining me in our 1/2 bathroom with the lights off (many different super fun activities take place in that situation), kicking balls in the basement with daddy, he loves playing with other kids, and hiding by the door when daddy comes home and saying "boo" (but our favorite part is the kisses we get after that)!

Tate prefers sitting on a phone book at the big table over his high chair...maybe one day I will get around to buying a booster seat. He is teething right now, which means he is not his usual easy going self. He has a really bad runny nose and coughs a little at night. He doesn't eat as much, which always makes me overly worried (he needs all the calories he can get). Basically, he is fussy...and I am not used to it. I just have to remind myself (or be reminded by Andy) that he is teething and it will pass. I should have more understanding than I do, considering I just had my wisdom teeth come in 6 months ago.

I can remember trying to do that when Cody was a baby. There were moments when I would just hold him & breathe and tell myself, "record this feeling & smell."...sadly, it doesn't work. I can't smell the baby on him anymore, but I still love to hold him!

Every thing you wrote, I thought, "Yup. Yup. That's Tate." He is such a good boy. Good luck with the teething.

I love my Tater-tot!!! He is the best little boy, and the cutest! It is so hard to remember all the little things about them as they grow (especially when more kids come), but you always remember how precious they are to you.

What a great entry for the future! I do the same thing because I never want to forget how my boys are at each stage. They grow up too fast!!

All I can say is "just keep blogging, just keep blogging, just keep blogging, blogging, blogging". I forget which kid did what all the time. I remember telling myself I could NEVER forget. Alas, we are human. You are so smart for blogging it. I sure wish I had journaled. Now I hold other peoples babies and "remember" how it was when mine were small.
