Dirt, dirt...and more DIRT!

I was having a nice conversation on the phone with my beautiful mother, when I turned to find this happening...

In the past, I would discourage Tate from getting too messy or eating non-food items...but on this day I decided to let him do his thing. I realize that he is a boy and needs discover the world around him with ALL of his senses. Not to mention, that when I was a little girl, I was known to eat dirt and even other more disgusting non-food items (no need to discuss that further). =) I had a good laugh watching him dig into the dirt, putting the now wet dirt in his hair, watching how it coated his little fingers...and finally, eating it! After that fun experience, Tate had a nice warm bath...and I loved seeing all the little dirt friends in the bottom of the tub and washed off!

Well what do you expect when you don't feed him! Elle did that once with a clod of dirt and it was nasty, but funny at the same time. He looks like he is having so much fun though. What a cutie!

That kid and dirt! He totally cracks me up. I swear he's eaten half of our sandbox, but at least he's eating, right?

If you like mud, then how perfect that you're having another boy! Girls like mud too but boys are pretty talented.

I hear you have a great picture of Heidi from Lagoon. I was hoping it would be here... maybe next time?

Ah, that does remind me of someone I know! Like mother like son! These pics are adorable; I especially like the ones focused on his hands. We sure love that little guy.

How cute! And what a great Mom to let him explore and be a boy! It didn't hurt, right? I need to be more like that.
