:: some recent finds ::

This week was a good week...I found this art! It is a vintage 34"X14" acrylic painting on canvas, with a simple wood frame painted gold & signed by the artist. It could possibly be my best find yet! Are you wondering how much I spent? I scored this beautiful baby for $15.00 + $10.00 for shipping!!!

I realize not everyone loves my new vintage lamp with the passion of 100 horses (inside joke)...but I adore it! When the lady at the shop threw in the vintage lamp shade for only $10.00, it was a done deal. It is so nostalgic for me...you see, growing up we always had a cork ball to hold pencils etc... I love the lamp's shiny chrome, scale, shape-you name it!

:: a skateboarder's dream home ::

I am smitten with this one folks! This gorgeous Victorian style home in San Fransisco belongs to a skateboarder and his interior designer girlfriend (thus the style)...she had been collecting furniture since she was 14 years old! I wish I would have done that, we would be much farther along now. ;) I think it is so cool and creative- they really managed to make their style work with these great bones!

:: who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? ::

I just ordered this vintage cookie jar from Etsy today. =) I have never had a cookie jar so I thought it was about time to get one...much more appealing than plastic bags! I can't wait to make a batch of delicious Pudding Chip Cookies (that my friend, Chantille is famous for) once it arrives.

Pudding Chip Cookies
from the kitchen of Chantille Jarrard

2 & 1/2 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 small package instant chocolate pudding (could also use vanilla pudding)
1 t. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. white chocolate chips (could also use semi sweet chocolate chips)

Soften butter at room temperature, mix with both sugars and pudding. Add eggs and vanilla and mix again. Then add remaining ingredients and bake @ 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. ENJOY!!!

:: check it off my list ::

I accomplished so much today!!! I FINALLY got my dream desk today...thanks to Anna for spotting it for me yesterday. :)

It looks very much like this...

I find it so ironic that I just blogged about wanting to find a desk like this so that I could get our office done. I am really getting in the decorating groove. =)

I also hit the jack pot when I found these large white Jax book ends today (I have been looking for them FOREVER.)

The universe is sending good Karma my way!!!

:: wallpaper? ::

Our front room is a space very similar to this...a small room with a solid back wall. We are using the space as our office and I like the idea of it being an office, but right now it is a room waiting to get some attention (even though it is the first impression you get when you are welcomed to our home.) We have our back wall painted a chocolate color at the moment (which we did 4 years ago.) Now I am considering putting up some cool wallpaper. What do you think? It is such a small accent wall and would be easy to put or take down when it comes time for a change. I think a something similar to this stunning mirror would be nice and make the room feel larger since it would reflect the light coming from the window across the room. I want to finish it off with a glass desk with hair pin legs (a concept I have envisioned and would have to make) in the middle of the room, a rug, and some kind of low/long shelf against the back wall, and then chair(s) facing the desk. That is the plan anyways! =)
